I recently purchased an Uplift Motion Stool on sale for $80 and after using it for a week, I give it a thumbs up. I work predominantly from my home office and I love my Uplift standing desk that I purchased a year ago.
However, I found myself sitting still in a traditional office chair more often than I liked. It can be tiring to stand for long periods. My research identified motion stools or wobble stools as they are also called as a possible alternative. The stool provides something to lean on but since it wobbles, it also requires the use of your legs, hips abs and core muscles and forces "active sitting."
While there are many such stools available, I decided on the Uplift since it was the same company as my desk and the low cost. The Uplift Motion Stool is simply a rebranded version of Uncaged Ergonomics Wobble Stool available on Amazon for $129 (4.5/5 stars)
- Provides "active sitting"
- Low cost
- Could use more adjustment for taller users like me. The 33.5 inch maximum could be a few inches higher
- Could use more cushioning
